Default Wine in checked or carry on luggage

I know Princess rules say you can take on board one bottle of wine per passenger.
Does the bottle have to be in your carry on or can you put it in your checked luggage? The rules did not specify which or whether either is ok. This is an inquiry for the port only.
This is our first cruise on Princess and so we are not familiar with their policies.

Put the wine in your carry-on. If you pack it in your checked luggage you run the risk of having to go to the "naughty room". It can be mistaken for a bottle of liquor.

Take care,
Mike

Just carry it on. On our NCL cruise a few years ago, we packed a large bottle of water in our check-in luggage, and were sent to the naughty room as they thought it might be vodka.

definately put it in your carry-on, if you put it into your checked baggage not only could you be sent to the naughty room, but you also risk bottle breakage unless you wrap it really, really, really good
