Two Main Entrees?

For the specialty restaurants, can you order two entrees if you cannot decide? Or will you be charged a double dinner fee?

You would be charged.......Flip a coin, I don't think you will lose either way:)

In my experience in alternative dining restaurants on ships, the portions are much larger than those served in the MDR and for me, have not warranted ordering a 2nd entree. Based on what I have been told, a 2nd portion of the main entree will incur an additional fee.

Hmmm....I dunno, they say the fee is not for the food but the extra service, so if you had the nerve to ask maybe you wouldn't get charged. Unless the items are individually priced...

Why would anyone want to pay extra for food on a cruise? The main dining rooms and the buffet restaurant have almost anything anyone would want to eat. The main dining rooms (two) have excellent services and the buffet is quick and have a varied selection if you are in to a caferteria style restaurant. We would never pay extra for food on a cruise since it is included in the price.

For the most part, I tend to agree with you. However, I kind of feel like I should try it at least once to see if it is worth the extra effort.:)

Actually on our last cruise on NCL i was able to order 2 entree's without being charged extra in their Italian restaurant.

We haven't been to the any of the specialty restaurants since Sabatini's changed the way they serve their food but I would suspect there wouldn't be a extra charge for it. We found the food to be so good on the Emerald that spending money for the restaurants would only be wasteful and completely unnecessary.

Actually, Trip and Golden, we eat in the specialty restaurants all the time, every night and we are never charged for double items or even items which are not on the menu, which they make special for us. This would include both HAL and Celebrity lines.

I will be cruising on Princess.
