Default Sanctuary Pool- Pay?

I am confused about the Sanctuary and the pool. There is a pool on the top deck where the Sanctuary is. Is the pool part of the Sanctuary? Do you have to pay to use the pool?

Hi there, on the Grand and Golden, and therefore presumably the others, the 'never ending' pool was open to general use with the Sanctuary/Retreat & Spa areas wrapped around the sides and front of it.

Hopefully they won't be changing that any time soon.

So what you are saying is that the pool is open to everyone, however, if you want to use spa or sanctuary (which lie around the pool), then you have to pay? How much is the Sanctuary to use and what is included?

Hi again Golden1, and yes that's correct (or at least was earlier this year operating in Europe). The pool was free with easy access from either the spa level access to the gym, or from above next to the gated off Santuary.

The Sanctuary itself had a daily charge, but I cannot remember what it was other than it seemed very high just to get more comfortable sunbeds and a bit more privacy. The noise from the never-ending pool machinery would have carried into the Sanctuary area at times, so we didn't bother .

Hopefully someone else will have the daily charges,

Alan & Katrina

The Retreat on P&O Azura was 20 per day, but as I said was fully booked.

It seems last year it was $20/day. I was confused by the whole deal myself and stayed away.

Island and Coral Princess only the aft pool is part of the Sanctuary and only people that pay for the Sanctuary can use it. The other princess pools, the Sanctuary is close to the Spa pool. It's not part of the Sanctuary and anyone is free to use that pool and lay around it.

Just off Grand Princess. The Sanctuary costs $10 per half day (not sure what the time slots are though). I never, ever saw anyone in the pool other than during embarkation when there was some sort of a photo shoot going on. We toured the Sanctuary itself, and while very nice, I just have issues with paying for this area. I like RCCL's set-up of an adults-only Solarium that provides much of the same vibe as PCL's Sanctuary, but at no cost.

All the pools on the Emerald , Island , Coral ans Sapphire where free.
This even included the Hot Tub in the spa area.
We usually don't use the hot tubs or pools when we cruise .
We see people climb into hot tubs and pools with sores that are definitely
infected . Being married to an RN (my DW) see this a germ factory at sea.

The aft pool on Coral and Island are not free. They are enclosed in the Sanctuary and you must pay Sanctuary prices to access them. The hot tubs are free.

Just spent 17 days on her, you will get kicked out if you try it unless after Sanctuary hours. Underneath the sanctuary is the kids club, so unless you're going to hang there there is no where to sit.

I thought the point of the sanctuary was to get away from the noise and the kids.

All I wanted on P&O Azura was somewhere to sit in/out of the sun where I could have a dip now & again without having any hassle over sun loungers. I was willing to pay for it but unfortunately it was all booked up.
