Default Greek Island cruise not going to Rhodes

Hi We are doing a Italy and Greek Island cruise on the Crown Princess this summer. We have just been informed that the ship will not be going to the island of Rhodes. Reason given operational problems???. I see this stop has been taken off all the Greek Island cruises. We're not to concerned about this but just wondered if anybody had any ideas why this stop has been removed.

We are on a Regent Seven Seas cruise in October and so far, they have not cancelled this port. They did however cancel Cairo/Alexandria on us.

I read that the port is just overcrowded and sometimes port authority will not let the ship in. Apparently it happens quite often there because the harbor is small and sometimes not all the ships can fit since local and commercial ships also dock there. I guess technically that is an "operational problem".

Have you logged onto Princess to check your itinerary? I was under the impression they changed it to Santorini on 6/25, then 2 sea days instead of Rhodes.
