Emerald: Mini suite or Balcony

I have been on the Emerald and other princess ships and have always had a mini suite. Going in April but this time I have a balcony stateroom. How do they compare and will I be in for a disappointment? Any thoughts?

How many people?

If it is just one or two you will be fine. The cabin is a bit smaller and only has one TV and a "love seat" instead of a full sized couch.

I have sailed in both the mini-suite and in a regular balcony and overall I didn't have a problem with the size of the balcony cabin.

If you are sailing with more than two people then you will notice the difference and wish for the mini.

We sail with 2 people only & got upgraded to a mini one time but I would never pay the extra for one unless it was dirt cheap. The small additional space is hardly worth it but the larger bath was nice. The additional TV was a waste.

Thanks for both responses. There is just the two of us and I think I will be happy with the balcony.

Of course they might just upgrade you to a mini suite after all.
