I'm booked on Dawn Princess Rome to Sydney, 4 September to 11 October. Just got my tickets and there's a note to say we will be at two different ports in India. The original itinerary says just one, Mumbai. This suggests that another port, probably nearby, has been cancelled.
Does anyone know what the facts are? I asked my travel agent and he said that even if they call Princess Cruises they won't be told anything.
I've had this happen to me before, where a shipping line doesn't tell you about a change of itinerary until you're onboard, even though they know about it well in advance.
Sometimes things change, especially in that part of the world. It actually happens on a regular basis - ports change, times change, etc. With all the unrest in Egypt, I have no doubt a lot of itineraries are going to be impacted for those traveling near that part of the world.
But your agent is not very good if he told you Princess wouldn't tell them anything without even calling them! Any time I've called and asked them about a change in itinerary, I was able to find out what happened. If your agent doesn't at least want to call and ask, then perhaps you can call Princess and see if they'll tell you what's going on.
