Depends on the tour - some fly into Fairbanks and others fly into Anchorage.

Yes we will be flying into Fairbanks, I can see now that it will not be a easy flight. We will be coming out of Charlotte n.c. It looks like we will have maybe three stop overs, that makes for a very long day.

Not unusual for flying into Alaska. One of the main reasons why I always suggest going in at least the day before to give you some time to recoup from the flight and the time change.

But Alaska is one of those places that you have to visit at least once in your life - it truly is an amazing place.

We did this trip in May but were fortunate to fly directly from Chicago to Anchorage. Still a 6 hour flight but arrived at a decent time with the 3 hour time difference. Here is my review from that trip.
