We are taking a South American cruise next February. Although the website allows you to put a preference for a table for 2, I called our Princess agent to book and when I requested that preference, she said that her computer showed that the Golden no longer has tables for two in any of their dining rooms. Has anyone cruised recently on the Golden that could clarify this? Is it possible to sit alone as a couple? ( We prefer this for personal reasons- I know the advantages of having table mates) Thanks in advance for taking time to answer my question!
We did the SA cruise this past February. We had no problem getting a table for 2. The main seating guy (sorry can't remember the word) tried to get us to sit with others, but after about 5 days, he gave up! There were quite a few tables for 2; we usually ate early, though, so that might make a difference.
The Princess agents sometimes don't know what to say & just give an answer based upon what they see on their computer. All the Princess ships have tables for two although some of the traditional DR's may not have them (like on the Grand)- only the anytime DR. When you arrive on the ship go & check with the Maitre D the first day & get a table assignment. We haven't sat at a larger table in years except for breakfast occasionally.
