Default Internet availability

We'll be on a RSS Navigator cruise in February and we're wondering if the computers are available for use other than for sending and receiving email directly. That is, can one access informational and webmail sites as well.

Any pertinent information and comments will be appreciated.

www.rssc.com is the wabsite for Radisson Cruises. I have just posted a message about the Navigator that sails in the carribean. I have just heard from my parents aboard the ship this morning and the was a fire on board this ship early this morning. I was told that at least they are ok and that the ship will not be back in port until 1/19 instead of 1/18. This could mess up their schedualing for awhile since they reported the fire to be in the engine room.

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear that your parents are ok, and apparently everyone else as well.

Sounds like it was nothing major inasmuch as they got underway rather quickly. How long it will take to fix, and whether it will signficantly affect our plans in February remains to be seen. Depends on where in the engine the fire occurred, I would guess.

Thanks again for the heads up.

Internet is available and is relatively cheap. They sell packages from one hour to 20 hours. Amounts I remember:
1 hour = $6 (or $7.50, I don't remember)
10 hours = $40
20 hours = $75

Very reasonable.

Thanks for the information. Sounds like what we need..

I'm sure they will be using standard US type keyboards, but everytime I think about it I can't help recalling the European keyboards that we've encountered. The last one was in an Internet Cafe in Munich and I spent the first hour figuring it out; the owner was no help. But I really enjoyed the liter of Bavarian beer while I was struggling.

I had a bad experience with a French keyboard in the Air France lounge at CDG. Letters all over the place. I was trying to send emails to the office and they were really coming out bad.

All Radisson ships have standard keyboards. I guess they just make the Europeans adjust to our setup.

I am going on the RSSC Mariner on June 22. I called to get the specifics regarding internet availability. Customer service directed me to the person in charge and he gave me these specifics for the Mariner anyways:
.75 per minute pay as you go
$55 for 100 minutes (.55 minute)
$100 for 250 minutes (.40 minute)

Yes

tons of cheap access....... the time you are charged is the actual download time or send time........... which is measured in seconds....... it is not the time connected to the computer...... This makes it a bargan.

I think in a month, using it everyday, i ran up a bill of 15 bucks.....
