Radisson no longer serves free caviar in cabins or in the dining room. I asked Christian Saleau, the top hotel operations exeutive, the reason and this is his answer:
""The price of Caviar has been escalating in the last years and keep going up. As you probably know we are not allowed to import Beluga Caviar to the US, and consumption of caviar is highly controlled because being an endangered species. Just to give you an example, three years ago for a 2.2lbs tin of Sevruga caviar we paid $440, today the price is $2200! and we expect the price will go up. On board our ship today, we serve caviar at the society party, we include some caviar in some dishes on Captain Welcome and other formal nights. We give complimentary caviar when requested for the guests occupying largest suites (Master, Grand, Voyager) For other request for caviar we charged USD$50 for 1 oz with all the condiments. "
