What to do with Noon to 8pm in Anchorage after our cruise

We are going on the northward bound Alaska cruise in June and opted for the trainride back to Anchorage which takes us to the airport. Our plane doesn't depart for the states until 10pm that night, so we are not sure what to do with our luggage or what to see.

Any suggestions? We wondered if any of the hotels might have a "day rate" which would allow us to check in, leave our luggage, have dinner, and then check out on the way to the airport.
