2010 plans

Hello,

This section appears to be very quiet....no new topics since 2007.

We are looking at either land based or cruise vacation to Tahiti.

Phil did it back in 2000 on the Renaissance.

Anyone have any thought or reviews on recent travel there?

The Paul Gauguin is a wonderful way to see French Polynesia. We had a wonderful time. Especially wonderful were the two motu days.

If you have specific questions, ask away. I know a couple of us on these boards that have sailed on the PG. However, a caveat, I have heard that 2009 will be the last year that Regent will manage the ship; I don't know who GCT will have operate the ship in 2010.

I very much want to do the PG but now it seems less likely. We have Blogger2 in Feb 2009 and probably another in 09 so we are planning 2010 now.

That ship always appealed to me. Plus it is(was) all inclusive. Sure it cost more but it has a much smaller pax size and teh crewax ratio is nice.

I read last night about Princess doing the area. Even considered their 26 day repo doing Machu Piccchou and Panama Canal.

We can't do 26 days away from work so until we retire that willbe a dream.

Best land prices were beachfront for $200/night. I've been there so I know what can be done cheaper.
