Mississippi River Cruises returning in 2012
American Cruise Line is currently building a 140-passenger ship to service the New Orleans-Memphis route once handled by Delta Queen.

Seven night cruises are expected to begin in August of 2012.

This is true - I just interviewed them and they say the new riverboat is already selling well.

The new boat is a paddlewheel steamer BUT itr is also assisted with two standrad propellars - so it will go a lot faster than either the Delta Queen or American Queen did.

I have never been on a river cruise, but we have seen pictures and they look great. Why are so costly?

That's one of my dream cruises. To go on a riverboat cruise and would love to be on when they have the races between two of them.

I`ve red similar things as well. This is a good thing for North America and those who enjoy its history. You will be able to enjoy the design of a traditional Mississippi riverboat from 19th century.
