Default Cabins on Voyager??

Please help us decide on what type of cabin to book for a mid July cruise on Voyager? My husband and I will be on our first cruise with our 2 children, aged 9 and 10. We are an active family and don't plan on spending much time in our cabin. We're considering cabins D1-D9 and DA or DB. Will these cabins provide enough sleeping space for 4 with the sofa bed?

Can anyone give us a rough ball-park cost for the cruise only portion for 2 adults and 2 kids? I'm ready to start shopping for cruise specialists/travel agents and on-line and have a RCCL brochure......but I could use some advice. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

sherri,
The cabin should be fine, we got 4 in an inside cabin on the Majesty and it was a great cruise. We were very crowded but we just took turns with getting dressed and all. These cabins are very small and I have heard the ones on the Voyager are bigger. We are going on the Voyager at the end of June. We booked a balcony this time. We are really looking forward to this cruise as there is so much to do! As far as price is concerned, there may be some good deals out there, but be aware that this is peak season for family cruising. We are paying quite abit for a Level C balcony suite for 4 (over $1000 a person, and that doesn't include air)

Hi Sherri,
If you want to get some idea on prices, post in the "bargain finder" here at Cruisemates. Its really easy and travel agents will e-mail you their "best" price on the cruise you list. Actually I think a family cruise on Voyager will be great for your family. Good luck.

Hi there:

Just read your posting. we're going on the voyager july 29th and are totally excited. this is the second cruise that i've taken my kids on, they're now 15 and 12, and there is so much to see and do. I got a wonderful price from cruisequotes. They're based in Billerica, MA and had an 800 number. We're paying $5050.00 for the four of us, and we're on deck 9 with a balcony. We're taking care of our own airfare, which saves us quite a bit. give them a try and let me know how you make out. Before you call them, get a price from a local travel agent, and cruisequotes will most definitely save you some money.

Enjoy!!

you should definetly shop around i booked my cruise in Jan and i am sailing in August. My girlfriend is also going she has 2 adults and 2 kids in her group. she is paying 3500.00 and she did her own air NY to ft. lauderdale for 175.00 RT . from there take a shuttle for 15.00 to the pier. youll save some money. youll pay more if flying into miami. have fun
