Hi! My family and I will be cruising on Explorer next week, and we see that our room has a minibar in it. Does anyone know if it is refrigerated and if there is room in it to store some cans of diet coke that we plan to bring with us on board? I believe we are staying in a category D7 room. Thanks!
At least on Voyager, the mini-bars have very little room in them for your stuff and they are very sensitive - if you look at them the wrong way, you'll get charged for taking something out. You can ask the cabin attendant to empty the mini bar so that you'll have room for your stuff and not have to worry about the charges.
I'm leaving on the Explorer tomorrow and can't wait!
We sailed Voyager last April and immediately had the cabin steward empty out the fridge. If you don't, there will be no room in there for your own items. It is true that if you pick an item up for a few seconds, you've bought it. I have a feeling that eventually they will get rid of the mini-bar's altogether as most everyone wants them for their own things.
When we were on the Voyager in Jan 2000 the room steward was not allowed to empty the frig. and if you touched you bought. Things change all the time Then Johnnie Rockets charged and there was a fee for skating and rock-climbing now they don't so probably you can now clear the frig. Inside cabins had them also.
