Default Miami Hotel-Explorer

Departing on cruise July 21. Need to make reservations at hotel close to port - any suggestions - just for one night. Hotel stay not included as we booked our own airfare. Thanks for any info. Shar

Stay at the Miami Sheraton, or the Embassy Suites at the Miami Airport is handy, as a cab ride to port is only 6 miles

We have a great AARP discount rate at Marriott Biscayne Bay later this month and have also stayed at the Hyatt. In fact we got the day prior at the Hyatt through RCI even though we booked air on our own. RCI's price was better than what we could book Hyatt on our own on that occasion. You might want to recheck on that option.

I have reservations at the BestWestern Marina Park Hotel. I am sure that it is not as nice as the Sherator or Mariott but... you get what you pay for. This is only 99.00$ for one night and is located at the enterance of the Port of Miami.
Hope this helps....

Shar We stayed at the Wyndham in downtown Miami the night before our Explorer cruise. We had a port view room, very clean and nice that we bid $50. from priceline.com . It costs $5 to Bayside or to the port for a cab. That was the first time we ever used priceline, but it won't be our last. If you have any questions just ask.

Thanks for the info - sound good to me - we'll be arriving late and just need a place to sleep - could you actually walk into the port from the hotel with luggage on wheels??

THE BEST WESTERN, DOWNTOWN, IS RIGHT ACROSS FROM A NICE SHOPPING MALL,ON THE WATER, WHERE THE HARD ROCK CAFE IS, AND VERY CLOSE TO THE PIER. NOTHING TO LOOK AT FROM THE OUTSIDE BUT IT IS NICELY LOCATED. ALSO THE DOWNTOWN HYATT IS NOT BAD. EITHER WAY, THE CAB RIDES ARE ALL PRE-DETERMINED, PRICE WISE SO YOU WON'T GET RIPPED OFF. CHECK OUT AAA, THEY HAVE A LOT OF INFORMATION ON HOTELS. WE ALSO STAYED AT THE WYNDHAM AIRPORT, DECENT HOTEL, NICE BUFFET.
