Default Explorer of the Seas 5/19

Just booked Explorer of the Seas cruise on 5/19. Would be interested in chatting with others who have booked this cruise. Have some family in the Miami area...what is the policy on guests during boarding?

Hi Bernadette,
To bring guests aboard, you'd have to check with security first, it may be possible, but I wouldn't count on it. I'm currently on Explorer now and its a fantastic ship, you'll have a ball.

Hi Bernadette,

I am on the May 19th sailing of the Explorer. The only experience I had with guests was in 1989 aboard the Sovereign of the Seas. At that time guests were still allowed. Last time I checked that have stopped this. I don't think there is any way to get a guest on board anymore.

I am traveling with my wife and 5yo son. Coming in from San Francisco. Where are you coming from? What Category of room did you book?

I have seen some postings on another board where some people were going to get together in the Viking Crown Lounge at 3pm on the 19th. Maybe we'll see you there.

Hi Bernadette,

I will be on my honeymoon on the may 19th cruise. Like sovren, I have also been watching other message boards. It seems like the positive quotes out number the negative ones by a long shot. If possible, we will meet with fellow "cyber-sailors" in tha Viking lounge at 3:00p.m. on the 19th.

We are counting the days and hoping for fair skies!!!

Phil

Hi Donna,
Thanks for the reply and info. Sounds like you are a true "cyber sailor" and enjoying your cruise. Perhaps, you can let me know where singles (late 30's to early 50's) hang out on the ship. This is my first "solo" travel adventure. My daughter (former traveling partner) is now grown and married. Happy cruisin'

Hi Len,
Thanks for the reply. I too remember the 80's and being able to go on the ship in New York for a bon voyage party when my parents were cruising. I'm from New Jersey (South Jersey) and will try to stop in at the Viking Crown Lounge on the 19th to meet you all.

Hi Phil,

How exciting...being on a cruise and celebrating your honeymoon. I recently booked this cruise and therefore am a little late in the message board chatting with you all. Hope to meet you and yours at the Viking lounge on the 19th.
