RCI to buy Sun Cruises of Airtours
There is some word that RCI is looking at buying Sun Tours (part of Air Tours and 30% owned by Carnival-but who doesn't Carnival own?) to create a European brand of cruises. Sun has three of the four ships RCI first build, which would make RCI buying them rather ironic.
The thinking as it was expresses by somebody claiming to work for RCI and having spoken to a capt. of the ship he is on, is that RCI will move their older tonnage to the line, such as the Viking Sarenade, and in time, the Monarch Class, to the new line. Thus allowing RCI to keep adding new tonnage to their Caribbean routes.
Anybody hear anything to give evidence to some truth to any of this?
Re: RCI to buy Sun Cruises of Airtours
I think some of the Sun Tour ships were originally in the R.C.C.L fleet.
