Cabin Attendant Tipping on Credit Card?

I was wondering whether you are able to put cabin attendant tips on a credit card or must they be in cash. I don't want to have an "automatic tip" charged to my cabin but I would like to be able to charge it; minimizes the amount of cash I need to carry around.

Near the end of your cruise go to the casino and get cash on your credit card.

When we cruised on RCCL Legend in May they provided you a form for your tips. It was charged to your ship card.

I've heard this slows up the crew from getting their money though and that they are charged a bookkeeping fee for charged tips, so IF you can, pay in cash. If not, a charged tip is better than no tip. :o)

All the information regarding tipping comes with your cruise documents. Read the tipping guidelines and put cash in a separate envelope to "save" for the end of the cruise. The crew much appreciates the cash over the other means!

Thanks for your information on this matter. You raised a point that I did not consider. I was so concerned about my own convenience that I didn't take into account the needs of the hardworking staff that depend on tips for their livelihood. I'll plan ahead and be sure to reserve enough cash for tips. Thanks again.

I'm sure they'll appreciate getting the cash. It's very nice of you to put their needs above your own convenience!
