Just returned from 7 days on the Voyager of the Seas. Cruise was great however some negatives were the length of time it took for the elevators to arrive in busy times. And my wife was stuck in the elevator for ten minutes. Fortunately it was an elevator with see through glass and another guest saw her pounding on the glass before help arrived.
The average length of time for an elevator was 5 minutes in busy times.
Also those elevator lights were hot. They should use flourescent ligths.
It took two close to two hours for to debarkation.
If you can stand the crowds it is a great ship. 250-400 fewer guests would have been nicer.
My husband and I were on the Voyager in September last year, full ship, and I never felt the crowds at all. Sometimes we took the stairs at busy times, but I'm not big fan of stairs which lead UP, so we mostly used the elevators and didn't find there to be a problem. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole week!
Jeff, I was on the Voyager in March. Loved her. Elevators minor detail of the ship. Of course they're going to be crowds. All elevators during peak times whether you're on the ship or not (at work, the mall, city hall, hospitals) are going to be busy during peak times. Come on give me a break!!!!
We were on the Voyager in July and I never saw so many rude people trying to fit in 1 elevator at the same time. I don't know about you but I believe elevators are for the elderly, handicapped, and families with small children. When I eat 6-8 meals a day I take advantage of the stairs, sounds like others should also!!
