Maryann - Took the motorcoach from Dallas to Galveston on December 2 at a cost of $25 per person roundtrip. Considering RCL charges passenger $40 round trip from the Houston airports to Galveston, the $25 was a real bargin. The meeting point was a WalMart grocery store in Mesquite near Town East Mall. Depature time is 7:00. There were two Greyhound buses and a van but at 7:00 there was a grand total of nine of us. Not sure why the mix-up (agent had a listing of 84 names) but we all loaded onto one of the buses and took off. Stopped a couple of time along the way. At Galveston, pulled-up to the dock where porters were waiting to take our luggage.
On return trip, had a hard time locating the returning bus. There was a hand-made sign that said Dallas but there was no bus there. After a while, located a driver holding a signed mark Dallas. This time Greyhound only set a twenty passenger motor-coach for the nine of us. Return trip to Dallas was quick.
One note is that there was no real check-in process in that the driver on the return leg was not sure how many passengers he was suppose to have and just took our word that it was nine.
Overall, would do it again.
