Re: Rhapsody April 28, 2002
Jack, I'm not going 4/28 but probably this summer. Please post a review when you return. I'm thinking about taking a family cruise, 10 adults, 1 teenager and 4 children, ages 2, 5, 8 and 10 and would like to know about the ship. I've read some old reviews but nothing current. We live in Texas and driving to Galveston is more economical than flying to Florida. Thanks in advance if you're able to post a review.

Re: Rhapsody April 28, 2002
We are sailing on Rhapsody on July 7, 2002...our ports of call are Key West, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel...I wrote RCCL and asked some questions about Rhapsody refurbishment and they responded that she was to be in dry dock (presumably for refurb) from April 22-29, 2002...that doesn't sound right, based on the above thread. Maybe they meant 22-28?

Re: Rhapsody April 28, 2002
I hope she's not in dry dock. This is my firts cruise and my wifes second. We just got the bill balance last week on our cruise scheduled to leave the 28th.. I'll check with RCI again and try to get a definite answer.

I don't think RCCL knows where their going to. I just called them and now they say at first they where going to Cayman then it changed to Belieze and now it's back to Cayman. I hope they remember how to get back.

Re: Rhapsody April 28, 2002
I just returned from the Rhapsody 1-5 to 1-12 out of Tampa. We did have trouble getting into Grand Cayman. See my post under "Anyone to Grand Cayman?"
As for the ship, she is a beauty. I can see where she may need some sprucing up. But just think if you were walked on, sat on , and otherwise used by 2000+ passangers every week how well would you hold up?
The dining room is very pretty but a bit noisy due to all of the marble and lucite decor. The food and service were excellent. Although I have noticed some changes in the menus in recent years. Sometimes the entree choices were unusual to say the least. Seems like there are less expensive items on the menus these days. But there is still enough to please just about anyone.
The public areas are very attractive. Very clean and fresh looking. Lots of light and green plants. I must say though, that I liked the design and decor of the Centrum and dining room better on the Grandeur. I would surely go on the Rhapsody again, just not to the western carib. I have decided that I much prefer the eastern or southern.
A first on the Rhapsody, for me at least, a female Cruise Director. Nicci was very funny and very visible!! She seemed to be everywhere. Really makes a difference when the CD and staff are visible and personable.
Hope you enjoy the Rhapsody as much as I did.

Re: Rhapsody April 28, 2002
Just returned from Rhapsody on Sunday. We were told she was scheduled to be in Alabama for dry dock refurbishing in March, for 1 week. Hope this helps! Diane
