Default packing soda in luggage

Have never packed soda in my checked luggage. What is the best way to do it so that it doesn't exploded in luggage. What is better, cans or plastic 2 liters?

Default Re: packing soda in luggage

We have always taken plastic, 16oz, bottles. Cans don't work... if they are at all dented they will leak. We put them in zip lock bags and then a second large zip lock bag (which come in handy on the cruise). Then it all goes into a hard sided luggage (an older one that has been in the family for years)! Check a thrift store if you don't have one. The suit case is checked and we haven't had one spill!
