Default Shore excursion reccomendations

What do you reccomend for the eastern Caribbean? (Nassau/St. Maarten/San Juan/St. Thomas)
We are very active and don't want to just get on a bus or walk with a big group, and we don't scuba.
Any advice???

You would probably like the Sailing Regatta in St Maarten. Depending on the "job" you get it can be VERY demanding physically (you actually work as crew on the sailboat in a race against another sailboat). If you would rather not be that physical you can get a job like "timer" or "cooler queen", there's something for everybody. This excursion has been rated as best in the Caribbean, and the one at St Maarten is the original and from what I hear the best. There are copied versions at some other ports.

There's a beach in St. Marteen that's just BEAUTIFUL - Orient Bay Beach. The water was amazing.

In St Maarten, St Thomas this past January. On St. Maarten, we rented a car from Best Deal, right outside the gate from the pier. Driving was easy, as they drive American style {the right side of the road}. The road circling the island was in pretty good shape and fairly easy to find our way. We stopped at the Butterfly Farm and Orient Bay. We also stopped in Philipsburg and went to the Guavaberry Emporium and the beach for an hour or so. Cost for the rental car was about $65. Make sure you refuel, as it seems they charge triple if they have to refuel. In St Thomas, we took the ferry to St John and rented a dinghy for the day. They also have prices for half day rentals. A lot of fun!! St John is very beautiful. You can find the website on the internet. Just do a search for Noah's Little Arks. If you do this, just be sure you check the times for the ferry going back to Charlotte Amalie. It's a 45 minute ride. Don't miss the ship!!
