Port of Los Angeles

We are flying in a day early and will rent a car to sightsee. Can we return the car near the port, or do we have to return it back to LAX? If we must return at LAX, what are your suggestions for transportation to the port? Thanks.

There are two real nice hotels directly across from the port, one, the Sheraton Harbour Hotel and the Hilton. We will be staying at the Sheraton and they have a Drive & Sail deal that includes your room and transportation to the pier by shuttle, including breakfast and a bottle of wine. Don't know about turning a rental car in but bet you can. This is in San Pedro where the ship sails from. Helen

I forgot to mention, if you do have to turn the car back to LAX, there are shuttles from the airport to San Pedro. Theyn are called Super Shuttle. Van right outside luggage claim. They are blue and yellow. $15-$20 per person. Helen
