Help! "smart casual" dress code
We are booked on the Nordic Empress to Bermuda in June. What can I expect to see in the dinning room for dress code on "smart casual" nights? Do people dress more casually on the Bermuda cruises or is it the same as any other. Any information will be a great help.

Re: Help! "smart casual" dress code
My understanding is "smart casual" means a jacket & tie for men. We are also on the Nordic Empress to Bermuda in June & this is the dress code I'm going to use for me & my 2 sons.
Have a great cruise! I know we will! |
Re: Help! "smart casual" dress code
I think smart casual means anything other than cutoffs or clothing like that. On the Radiance in March smart casual was more on the casual than the smart side.(Although I don't really know how smart should look. (:) People looked very nice, but also very comfortable. Some wore shorts, some skirts, slacks.....I didn't see a lot of men in ties and sportcoats on those nights........ Mistly slacks and nice shirts, lots of polo type..... Hope that helps.

Re: Help! "smart casual" dress code
We were on the Explorer of the Seas in April,"smart casual"usually was men wearing slacks and a collared shirt. We did not see anyone wearing shorts.Ladies wore a capri outfit or a simple sun dress. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Help! "smart casual" dress code
I found copies of the Cruise Planners for the Explorer on one of these boards and it describes "smart casual" as polo shirts and slacks. Hope this helps!!

Re: Help! "smart casual" dress code
I believe that Smart casual is one step down from Semi formal. That is what it is replacing
