Hi, all. I was wondering if you could pass on the best tips you learned about cruising in general, or cruising RCCI in particular, from reading these message boards? For example, I learned that it's cheaper to book your own shore excursions, but that if it's a short port day and the excursion is longish, it' s safter to book through RCCI so you can't be left behind.
The best tip I got was on my first cruise. It was to read the next day's ship news bulletin the night before so you know what is being offered on board the next day. It is indespensible if you want to do as much as possible on board. Also, on the day of arrival, tour the ship and get familiar with the layout of it and its amenities.
Best tip is to enjoy the embarkation process, check out the thousands of people who will be your family for the next week. If you are single, see if anyone is checking you out and try to find that person the next day.
Ok, here's one I picked up on the boards: bring a travel clock that lights up, because the one in the room doesn't and if you're in an inside cabin it's pitch black!
