I have read that there is a company who will sell you a video of the ship you are going to be on. I think it's called vacations on video?? Anyway, I was thinking this might be a fun way to get my family excited about our upcoming cruise. Has anyone ever purchased on of these videos? Are the worth it??
Canīt help you out on your question but just a word to any European reader. From what I understand the videos produced are not PAL compatible, meaning they wonīt work for your video recorder. If you buy one, be ready to have it converted...not an easy feat.
Just got off 7 day cruise - Mex Riviera - on Grandeur. They were filming activities on the ship the whole time and offered a video of our particular cruise at the end for a little over $20. I took 6 rolls of film so I didn't need the video - they taped all the stuff I had gotten pictures of - but if you don't take many pics, this is the video to purchase. Of course, if you don't enjoy attending all the games and contests, the video is worthless to you as you won't know what's going on.
I have bought a couple of videos of the ship and they don't really give you that much information. You can see just as much on line. If you booked through an agency, they sometimes have videos that you can borrow.
If you can get your hands on a CRUISE TRAVEL Magazine you can buy a video. They have various videos of many of the ships on sale. There is an order form you fill out. I believe the ad is in the back of the magazine. It appears in every issue.
