Default Please help with cabin selection on Brilliance

We are trying to decide whether to take a cat. E1 or E2 on Brilliance. One cabin is right on the "bump" but it's the first cabin right next to the elevators and stairs so we are wondering if it will be noisy (Cabin 8102). The balcony looks bigger than the E2's.

Should we take this cabin or pick one of the E2's more in the middle?

Any help, especially from those who have sailed on either Radiance (sister ship) or Brilliance would be appreciated. Thanks.

We just returned from the 12-night Scandinavia/Russia cruise on Brilliance. We had a balcony cabin on Commodore Deck 7, Cabin 7674. It was across the aft of the ship. There are no elevators easily accessible--only in the center and forward of the ship requiring an extremely long walk. It was noisy and the ship's motion was very noticeable. This cruise was originally scheduled for Rhapsody of the Seas and I had selected the same accommodations in the center of the ship very near the elevators. When I complained to guest relations, they suggested I take a down-grade, which was an unacceptable solution. If elevator convenience is a priority, make sure you're near the center of the ship.

Elevator priority isn't an issue for us but we are planning to be mid ship anyways. The ship's motion should be ok since we are in the center however, we are interested in finding out about the balcony sizes for the various cabins.
Thanks for posting your experience.

We just booked 8102 for Oct 2003 in Med. I searched the groups and found only positive comments about that cabin. Noise appears not to be a factor. Balcony is much larger than other E class cabins. We were in a regular e2 in April and the balcony was quite small.

JF:

Thanks for replying.

We are still considering two cabins but it looks like we are leaning towards 8102. Hopefully it won't be noisy. The other cabin we are thinking about is 8586. Any info or suggestions which to take would be appreciated.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated as we have to decide soon and we still haven't made any final decisions.

Default cabin selection on Brilliance

We are booked in Cabin 8042...the balcony looks weird... but then again I don't expect to be sitting on the balcony since it's going trans-Atlantic..
