The count down is on for the Explorer sailing Sept. 21. I am excited and more than ready to enjoy my first cruise. I've done all my reading and research, thanks to this web site. We look forward to meeting our cruise mates. see you soon! save a margarrita for me! THREE WEEK AND COUNTING!! SAIL AWAY!!
Just got home today from the Explorer, it is absolutely wonderful.
The ship is a real beauty, and we had a blast. Carolina (one of the bar waitresses), outside the casino entrance, deck 4 is the sweetest person, and started off our vacation with a bang, by remembering our names the whole cruise long. The whole staff is just great, have a wonderful time (I am sure you will).
My husband and I will be there too! Not quite as far as you in packing but I have started! I have lists made of everything we are bringing so packing it all up should be a breeze! Only 18 more days!!!!!

Just started planning our next cruise. Explorer to W. Carib. Jan. 18. Went last Jan. to E. Carib. Glad to hear nothing has changed. It was WONDERFUL! 1st timers, you will be as thrilled as we were. In 2004 we will go to the S. Carib, but it will have to be a different ship. I'm hoping one of the newer mega-ships will have that route by then. We had no problem finding our way around after exploring the first day and memorizing our landmarks. The staff were wonderful and we made lasting friends from our dining table companions. We e-mail each other regularly to and from Canada and England. 1st timers--you will be amazed by the towel animals! I still crack up looking at my pics. And the bed pillows will be in a different configuration every day. Just whimsical touches to make your trip even more memorable. Don't worry about having the right amount of cash for the tip envelopes. You can put tips on your SeaPass. It is so convenient. They give you vouchers for the envelopes.
We really had to drag ourselves off when it was time to go. I can see why people with pots of money go several times a year. We met one man who just goes from one cruise to the next all year long, with or without his wife!
I know you will have a great time. Tell us about it when you get home.
