Default Transfer to FLL airport

Our flight out of Florida is from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. Any suggestions as to how to get there quickly and cheaply? We are a family of 5. Also, how long does it take to get there? We are flying into Miami the day before.

I'm doing the same thing. I have found the cheapest rout is to rent a car and drop off at miami. Drop your 4 off at port of miami and Thrifty has a downtown location you can drop off. They will also pick you up with car on return. I got a midsize for $43 a day. So you have 2 days of rental fees. No additional charge to drop off at different location. I did this in the spring and worked out great.

There is also the tri-county limousine service for $15 per person. Or a taxi will cost you about $70 dollars. There is also a system called the tri-county railway that goes from MIA airport to FLL.

How about purchasing a one-way transfer from the cruise line? We just did that on the Explorer. They will take you from the ship to FLL ($16.00 pp)
