Default Here are the Upgrade at Port Prices

We were on the Rhapsody of the Seas for the Oct. 13 sailing and when we got there the prices for upgrading were as follows:

From an inside to an outside - $100

If you had an outside cabin and wanted to upgrade to a balcony - $300

Outside to a suite $700

Outside to a Royal Suite $1200

A lady on the elevator said the inside to a suite was $1000

The math really doesn't work on the inside to a suite but who knows. The RCL rep said it didn't matter what you paid to begin with, it was based on what you had not what you paid. By the way they ran out of balconies by 11am. Debbie

Were these prices per stateroom or per person?

Hi Debbie,
Had no idea they had set prices for these upgrades. We will be on Radiance in Feb, but have an aft balcony cabin so would not be interested in an upgrade, really want to try one of these out for myself.

Thanks for the info!

They were per cabin and I don't know if they were set for every ship or just this cruise on this ship but was interested in how much they would charge since I had never stood in line to find out before... Debbie

Where do you go to get these upgrades? Is there an upgrade desk or do you ask at the gal at the regular line? Leaving on the Voyager tomorrow and woulg love a balcony.

The "inside to outside" upgrade for $100 does this apply for any inside category, or only the highest?

We are sailing on Enchantment on the New Year's cruise in a Q guarantuee. Probably the ship will be fully booked anyway, but I'm still curious...

I'll almost guarantee that these upgrades were offered because the ship had a number of vacancies. I am sure that the prices are based on the number of vacancies. It just like the bidding process to get people off overbooked airlines. There they offer more until they get what they want. In this case they probably know from experience how many with take the upgrade at what prices. Remember, that it doesn't cost them any more money to have you on board in a inside cabin vs a suite so why not get some more money from you vs leaving the cabin vacant.
