We are booked on the Nordic Emperess on the 14th of December. I need to know about the shore excursions in Belize City. Can someone fax those options to me? Also would like to know which nights are formal and semi formal if you have that information.
We are a group of 5 sailing with you on the Nordic Empress. So far I haven't seen too many excursions for Belize. We have opted to do the cave tubing with Reggie. He has is own website http://www.regtour.com/
Can't fax, however, we took the first sailing of this itinerary on 2 Nov. There were 11 shore excursions offered in Belize:
1) Xuanantunich & Marimba Lunch (7 1/2 hrs) 2) Scuba Diving at Turneffe Atoll ( 7 hrs) 3) Tale of Two Cities ( 4 1/2 hrs) 4) Wildlife Adventure (6 hrs) 5) Shark Alley & Beach Lunch (7 1/2 hrs) 6) River Kayaking Safari (7 hrs) 7) City & The Sanctuary (4hrs) 8) Lamanai and The New River Safari (7 1/2 hrs) 9) Jungle Bike and Cave Expedition (6 hrs) 10) The Mayan Ruins of Altun-Ha (4 hrs) 11) Cave Tubing and Jungle Walk (7 hrs).
The entire crew was delightful except the shore excursion director, tried to cut him some slack as it was the first sailing and problems will always arise but....
As to formal nights, they were 2 and 6. Our docs had stated a Smart Casual also but there was not, dragged the sport coat for nothing! We had early seating and formal night was predominately suits with a few tuxes.
We thourougly enjoyed the Nordic Empress, hope you have a wonderful cruise!
We've been to Belize 2x....first time did the Shark/Sting Ray Alley tour and thought it was great...kind of a long ride to the site, (about 45-60 minutes each way), but really worth it. You do see some nurse sharks, some sting rays and absolutely beautiful coral....it was beautiful. After the water part of the tour they take you to Ambergis Cay where you have lunch and can do some walking around on your own, (though not much to see or do)....the second time we just took the tender into town and walked around the new shopping area they recently built....while there saw many independent tour operators ..... some tours that weren't on the ship....we were going to do the Cave Tube Tour but one of our party had a very bad back and couldn't do the walking part of the tour...
Enjoy your trip!
Wendy generally speaking formal night s are a monday and thursday night
belize City....not much in the way of tours your best bet is to do the shark alley stingray tour its a swim on a coral reef (beuatiful i might add and the added bonus of Nurse sharks...Nurse sharks are non threatening to humans as they do not have teeth and are like vacuums sucking their meals up squid and fish.
its a fantastic experience. if you in for a real workout the jungle bike tour is a lot of fun but bring pants with you for that
then ther is the 7 hour mayan ruin tour
hope these help a bit
