Default Flight arrives at 1:05 - enough time?

Hi all - I will be on the Nordic Empress on 12/14, and my flight arrives in Tampa at 1:05. The ship departs at 4:00 - I'm hoping this will be enough time? There were absolutely no other direct flights available. I could try to fly standby on an earlier flight, but do you think this will be necessary?

Hi Ramita,
You don't mention what part of the country you will be flying in from?? The weather this time of year can be awful and cause delays, hopefully that won't happen, but if you can get an earlier flight, I'd try that just in case or even if you can fly down a day earlier. I'm basically in the same boat in Feb., flying to SJU from Chicago on the day of the cruise, but we arrive around 2 and the ship doesn't sail until 10 or 11, so I'm hopeing we too will be OK. Just no way to leave the day before, good luck!

Donna has a good point, depends on where you live. In our area the weather pattern right now would be in your favor but 4 or 5 days out, it is hard to tell. If there is an early flight, I would probably go to the airport and see if I could get on it.

When I'm doing my own air, I try to go a day early, or if I can't, like Donna, 8 or 10 hrs early to allow for changes.

I'd also check to see where your plane is coming from. The weather may be great at your airport but the plane can't get there because it's coming from somewhere with bad weather.
