Default Which company should I use to book my Navigator cruise?

My wife and I want the cheapest price for a cruise on the RCCL’s Navigator of the Seas for the Western Caribbean itinerary for sailing the week of June 14-21, 2003. We want an interior statesroom.

So far, the cheapest price that I have found is:

Cruise rate - $864.00 per person ($1,728 for two)
Insurance - $99 per person ($198 for two)
Non-comm cruise fare - $139 per person ($278 for two)
Tax - $26.45 each ($52.90 for two)

Total - $1128.45 each ($2256.90 for two)

We live in Florida, so we do not need airlines.

Can you beat this price?

We want to book with a reputable company, but we do not want to get ripped off.

Even better, go onto this website and post an ad for someone to beat your price. Its very simple and I've had great luck with it. You get to remain anonymous with the TA responses sent to your email address A company I've recently used is icruise.com. They tend to be near the bottom in price, plus they have their own affinity credit card that can save you $500/yr/cabin

try travelzoo.com or bestpricecruises.com. That seems alot for an interior cabin even though it's a new ship.

All this internet stuff is really neat & hi-tech.
If something goes wrong or you have a question,
can you look the internet in the eye and get answers?
Will the internet answer the phone if you have a problem?

A good travel agent can not only get you a good price,
but will be there when you need him/her.
I have priced my last three cruises online, without the knowledge
of my T/A, and he has met or beat the "net" all three times.
I am not a travel agent, nor do I have any ties to any.
I just know what works for me.

Just because I use the net doesn't mean I don't have a T/A. I use it for research and then turn over my best price to my T/A with "CruiseOne." He beat the price and is always available by e-mail or by phone.

Just to clarify.... Just because an agency is available on the Internet does not mean they are not also a "brick and mortar" agency.
MANY times the online agencies also both.... and local to someone, somewhere<G>

Kuki

Default That works for me too.

I research ships, destinations, etc. on the net,
but always use a real person to book by cruise.Robbie wrote:

I would say that you have a good TA, so hold on to this person. I have never been able to get a local TA to initiate a price that matches what I've found through the web. They have been able to meet the Inet price when I show them what I can get it for, but they have to beat the price before I give them the business.

Most all Inet websites for travel are backed by brick & mortar, flesh & blood travel agencies. I've booked all but 1 cruise through agencies remote from my home town.

We booked with a TA last year on Explorer and we paid through the nose. We saved over $600 per couple booking with Cruisevalue.com. We have a wonderful TA and she has saved us a bunch. I did research the web first and then called cruise value. We are sailing on the Navigator in May 2003 with a balcony room for just a little over 2000.00 and that includes everything taxes, port fees and the like. So, it does pay to shop around and ask.

Happy sailing,
Nancy

This is exaclty why I use the internet to book all my travel(not just cruises), because then if something happens I just have to look in the mirror and look myself in the eye. I used to have problems here and there when I was dealing with a TA but since I took control of my plans everything has been smooth sailing. TA's have many people to look after, I have only myself.

you know the old saying "if you want it done right do it yourself".

When are you sailing? Do you mind giving me an estimate of the cost for your Balcony room?

I'll put in another plug for icruise.com. You can get their price off of the web w/o having to speak with an agent. At least for my sailing on Navigator in the fall, it was the lowest price.

Take a look at I-Cruise.com. We have used them twice, and they have been great. Its an online booking. But you can call them if you need to. Great prices and they always have super bargains floating around.
