Default Cabin on the hump

I have a cabin on the hump of the ship. Is this a good cabin or what? Can someone help me?

Been there and done that and am doing it again in May, so it is a fine location. BUT it is a little noisy on the side with the "lifts" because of all the passengers talking/laughing etc. that goes on while using them.

Even after spending several years in the US Navy and working several years after that in marine shipyards, I have never heard of the "Hump" of a ship...

By this I am guessing that you refer to the part of the "Brilliance of the Seas" or the "Radiance of the Seas" where the sides sort of bulge out around the elevators.

Am I correct? Or is there a part of naval architecture that I was unaware of all this time?

Thanks, Bill L.

Sorry, I meant the part of the ship the bulges outward.

As I recall, there are no cabins on the "hump" where the elevators are located. Therefore, there is no problem with noise. Only the elevators are in the "hump" area on that side of the ship...

YIkes, you have jogged my memory and are certainly correct, we were on the EOS when that occurred! But it's a good thing when a couple of dozen cruises run together. We are blessed to be able cruise even though my wife is not a junkie like I am and will only go once a year. So I drag my Mom or a friend whenever possible, Robbie

Now you've got me worried! We are sailing on the EOS ("C" cabin 1628, deck 10) and are on the "hump". Did you experience noise? Will we enjoy this cabin? Thanks for any info.

It is strictly up to your fellow passengers since you are by the central location as they head off to or from their rooms on your floor. As I reported, it was a "little" noisy but then again you are on a ship with over 3,000 people. I am pretty tolerant while cruising but if I had a choice of cruising on the "hump" again, I would probably choose a cabin away from the stairs/elevators.
