Hi! I went on the Enchantment 2 years ago and loved it. Please read some reviews on this site and others. As a matter of fact I am considering going in march again depending how I will feel.
The ship is clean, service was great and the food outstanding. This was my first cruise and I was hooked for life! The Enchantment will be taken out for the 7 day cruises by end of this year and it will cruise 5 days then. Go for it!

I returned yesterday from Enchantment. We went to the western caribbean, the ship is beautiful and the food and service was excellent. The shows were good but the casino was not very friendly. If you have any questions feel free to email me. Overall it was a wonderful week and I am depressed to be back in Atlanta working right now.
Thanks for the posting the response on the message board about Enchantment. I have been on Rahpsody before so I pretty much know what to expect.
One question that I have is did you go on the Sting Ray tour in GC. I may want to take the kids but if there is going to be a couple hundred people all there at the same time then it is not for me. Any thoughts?
What did you do in Coco Maya?
We leave in three weeks so I can hardly wait with the weather up here in Canada being so bloody cold
In GC we went on the land sea tour that went to the turtle farm, hell and 7 mile beach. I would not recommend this tour but the kids might enjoy the turtle farm. Its interesting for the first five minutes but you stay there for 45 minutes. 7 mile beach is beautiful and if I had it to do over again I would have gone there instead of the land sea tour. The stingray excursions were cancelled that morning due to the weather on the other side of the island but every person that I have spoken to said that it is a wonderful excursion. In Costa Maya we just walked down to the shops for an hour or so and then went back to the ship and laid out by the pool for the rest of the day. It is small and uncommercialized with 20 or so shops right at the end of the pier. I would not recommend going on any of the ruins tours, 6 members of my family went and said it was a waste of time and money. The ship is not booked to capacity for the next 5 weeks, this week they had 500 available cabins still, I enjoyed it more because you get even more attention from the staff and you dont have to battle with other people for lounge chairs and such. How old are the kids? They have a very good youth program on Enchantment. I wish I was going again!!!!
Went on the Enchantment in September during Hurricane Isadore and had a great time. Marc the Cruise Director and his help were great. As stated before, Bingo is really fun even if you don't win. Kind of expensive but fun. Food was good. Wait staff was excellent. If you happen to have a waiter named Marijan tell him Lee and Cathy say hi!!! He was the greatest. Never felt crowded. Had a balcony cabin and there was plenty of room. Tried to rebook on the Enchantment but they no longer offer 7day cruises and 5 days jut isn't enough so were on Celebrity-Horizon for 10days in November. They are owned by RCL. Can't wait. Never been away that long. We are looking into a 10-11 day Alaska next. Have a great time.
We got back from the Enchantment on the 16th...would go back tomorrow...
Everything was wonderful! The ship only had about 1500 people on it and it was amazing.
If you have kids - the adventure club was terrific - my 7 year old did not want to leave! The staff is amazing.
As for GC and the stingrays, we got to go out because we booked with Capt. Marvin. We only found out that the ship excursions had been cancelled when we got back at the end of the day. It was rough but definitely enjoyable - the stingrays are too cool ( just got back some pictures today! ). Go to www.captainmarvin.com and check out their website - 39$ U.S. per adult, 22$ U.S. per kid and my 3 year old was free. They provide equipment and snacks ( but do grab some grub at the bakery around the corner - the food was excellent, especially the baps!). Our trip was at 10:15, which got us back for several hours on the gorgeous beach.
Sorry, even if you edit your post, you don't get those boxes back. I don't know of a way to un-check it, have tried myself :-) Once there are no replies to this thread, the e-mails will cease, so hang in there.
We sailed on the Enchantment in September last year. And if I only had one word to describe this ship, it would be Enchanting. We had one of the best cruises ever on this ship. Of course when we sailed she still had a 7 day itenerary. We had the best service ever on this ship. You can't go wrong on the Enchantment.
Although I too had a good time aboard the Enchantment last December 15th, I will not be taking another voyage aboard any Vision Class ship in Royal Caribbean's fleet. I prefer more outdoor "active" activities over bingo, napkin folding, wine tasting, etc. I know others will disagree with my assessment, but on days at sea, we found ourselves bored silly as most activities were geared towards an older, more sedentary group of people.
The ship is beautifully maintained and very clean. Our stateroom was great (we had a mid-level outside room) and our rates were incredible (prices on our sailing went down 5 times in 11 months, for a total savings of $200pp, including upgrades from an inside to outside). As the old saying goes, "you get what you pay for." The quality of the food was okay, not great. Service was outstanding. Entertainment so-so. But who's complaining when you can cruise for a week for under $400pp!
Despite a lack of activities, we had a very relaxing, low key vacation aboard the Enchantment. Like I said, although we found days at sea to be too sendentary for us, evenings were better. We enjoyed the casino at night as well as the movies shown in one of the show lounges. Our next cruise will be aboard the Navigator next December, which I'm told has more activities.
You'll probably find many more positive reviews than negative ones about the Enchantment. It seems most people really love this ship! Please don''t flame me for being honest. I had a very nice time aboard the Enchatment, but it just wasn't the right ship for us. Hopefully, you'll find it to be everything you hoped it would be! Good luck!!
We are going on the Navigator with friends on December 13th...we are a group of middle-aged volleyball players, all of whom still play competatively here in Northern California.
We have a website and message board that you are welcome to visit, where I have compiled a lot of information pertaining to the Navigator. Although much of the information is specific to our group, not all of it is. I post reviews, links to pictures, a monthly newsletter and other stuff related to our cruise. Just go to messages and scroll through the information. You are also welcome to subscribe, however, I post something just about every day and much of it is related to our group.
