I hear if the price drops after you book - you can rebook an upgraded cabin - but they won't refund your money. Is this true??? Also, how about issueing on board credit with the difference - maybe this seems to good to be true but I was just hoping.
Actually on RCI if the price drops for a cabin category that you are booked in, and that has no restrictions on the fare, such as regional or senior specials, you can get a refund on the difference.
Call your TA and have them get a hold of RCI, and you will get a refund.
How about the Cash Back Offers that sometimes occur if you book between X and X+Y? These seem to be gaining in popularity. If this rate is cheaper than what I booked for, can I get the difference? Seems like we may have to add temporal offerings to regional and age differences.
I've written an artricle regarding this topic that "hopefully" will be up next week sometime. I asked the cruise lines what their "official" policies were on price reductions.
I think people will find their responses interesting... though varied.. and hopefully it will help people when they encounter these situations.
