Default Fire on the Xplorer of the Seas

Hi Everyone!!

I read somewhere that there was a small fire aboard the Xplorer of the Seas.
We are taking the May 17th. 2003 cruise and I know it's a LONG time from now, so they have plenty of time to repair whatever was damaged by the fire.
-Does anyone know what happened?
-How bad was it?
-Will everything be in order by the time we leave?
-Should I cancel-change our trip?

Thanks a Lot. H.

There's small blurb on it at www.cruise-addicts.com. Seems there was a small fire on the putt putt course and inline skating rink. Superficial damage only.

From what I've read, I definitely would not be concerned about it.

My wife and I are also sailing on the 5/17 EOS. On another board I read about the fire. It seems that two teenagers started a fire which damaged the min-golf course, the in-line skating course and the water slide. Although they closed off the aft area for the duration of the 2/22 to 3/1 cruise these areas are almost completely repaired (according to postings from cruisers onboard). By the time we cruise we shouldn't notice that anything happened at all. We are really looking forward to this cruise (without the kids!!). It will be a great time! How many will be in yoru party?

Where/how did you hear about the teenagers starting the fire?
I hadn't read anything re/ the cause and was curious as to how it had happened.

It is basically a non-item as the fire was very minor and repaired within a week.

It was on the Cuise Critic RCI message board. A few different postings from cruisers on board referred to the teenagers. The damage was minimal and repaired quickly.

I am also on the May 17 trip and our cabin is just below on deck 9 in the aft. I know that all will be fine and there will be 1700 PM collectors also on board. What a blast.

A cruise has to be the perfect family reunion. You'll have a great time! My wife and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary. We cruised RCI on our honeymoon and five year anniversary so it's been 20 years since we have cruised. We are really looking forward to it (hopefully it won't be 20 years till the next). Has your group signed up for the RCI Cruise Critic party? With just over ten weeks remaining it will be here before you know it.

One of the reasons you didn't see too much stuff like that posted here is because we don't post unfounded rumors such as it being started by teenagers, we leave that to other sites that permit misinformation. When the truth comes out we post it. This was so minor it wasn't all that newsworthy actually.
