Has anyone ever had a quad cabin? Was it just too small at 120 sq. ft. or was it bearable?. We are never in our cabin very much, but have cruised Carnival in the past, which have larger cabins. We are cruising on the Monarch in July with two teenage daughters 17 and 13. Would it be much better to book two cabins?
We sailed the Monarch last October in a Cat. H oceanview. We were comfortable with just the two of us. I personally couldn't imagine 2 teenagers in the same room with us with all the hair and makeup accessories not to mention where would you put all the clothes and shoes. There is enough closet space for two people so if you do decide to book the quad make sure you take extra hangers. Carnival's cabins are much larger than RCI's and we sailed with 4 women in one cabin but only for 4 days. Another thought is take a power strip. There is only 1 electrical outlet in the room so if you have multiple hair dryers, curling irons etc. you'll need the extra outlets. Either way you'll make due and have a good time.
We just got back from a Spring break cruise on the Monarch...with two boys, age 13 and 8. We were in a Cat I, so there were two singles and then two bunks for the boys. It was cozy. But, we noticed there was plentry of room by the portal for a bed, so we asked the room attendant to close one of the bunks (they are from the wall) and place the bed on the platform by the portal....it opened up the room tremendously!! So, if you get a bit creative, it's not a problem.!! Besides, the programs are so great, the girls won't be in the cabin much!!
