arrival time

I'm a first time cruiser, going on RC's Voyager of the Seas May 24-Jun 1, 2003 (very excited!). It says that we arrive back at port June 1 in Miami at 8:30am. How early of a flight would it be reasonable to catch? I'm not sure of the departure system. I know we write down our flight time and depart in color order, but what's the earliest flight out of miami have people been able to take?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I can't say for sure because I don't know your itinerary but I just got back from our cruise and when we had to go through immigration, it took forever because people were not showing up on time. We had a shore excursion at 8 and they didn't let us leave the ship till 9. We did this the day before departure because thats when we actually reentered the states, officially but if you have to go through immigration on your departure day, its up to your fellow passengers when you leave. They don't clear the ship till ALL have gone through.

That being said, if you don't have to worry about such things I think a noon flight gives you ample time for anything to happen. You never want to worry on vacation- why cut it so close?

Hi Una,
I would say any flight after 12:00 noon should be very doable, hopefully when the clear the ship, they will start disembarkment. Have a wonderful time!

Since you're a first time cruiser, you might want to know that you can board a lot earlier than your docs say. Usually a couple hours earlier in Miami. I think we boarded Voyager around 10:30 a.m. Then there's lunch served in the Windjammer all afternoon. You'll love that ship..my favorite. Check out the chandeliers in the dining room.
