Default Splendour of the Seas

Has anyone sailed on the Splendour of the Seas lately? I will be on it for a twelve day cruise on 11/17/03 sailing out of Galveston, Tx and going to the Panama Canal. I am staying on the 7th deck at the very rear of the ship with a balcony. This is the first time to enter anything into this area, but have been reading it for about a month. Have not seen much on this ship. Just trying to get all the information I can prior to going. The wife and are getting excited about the trip. This will be our third curise, but the first over 7 days.

I can tell you that all aft balcony cabins have larger balconies than other cabins in the same category. Normally one can fit two chairs and a small table. These balconies can fit two chairs, two lounge chairs and two tables and still have room for 6 people standing(without being crowded).

I was on Splendour last October for a 15 day cruise from Barcelona to Galveston and am also booked on this same 11-17-03 Panama Canal trip as you are.

It was a very good trip on Splendour with lots of activities and the ship in generally very good condition. On the crossing the crew worked on some things like carpet replacement and painting. A few of the furnishings were a little worn, but all was clean and well maintained. The food was good and the crew friendly.

I obvously liked the experience enough to book again for this trip. Hope it is as pleasant and that you and your wife find it enjoyable as well.

We did that cruise this past February and loved it! I posted a review on the Cruise Addicts Board. I will try to link it for you...if it doesn't work just copy and paste.

Be sure and go to the Cruise Critic forum and register for the Meet and Mingle party, if you haven't already done so... :-)

We are on the Splendour after you, 11/29...

Bon Voyage!

The wife and I will be on the 11/17 cruise as well. Sounds like it's going to be a good time. We did the Rhapsody in December of 02. Looking forward to 12 days in an "A" cabin this time.
