Can we bring soda on board?

Just wondering.....can I bring a liter of coca-cola &/or Sprite on board for our room? Thanks for your help.

Yes, you can bring soft drinks onboard with you. When I was an alcohol drinker, we had no problems with that also at the various ports.

If you bring liquor on board they will take it until you arrive back in home port. They scan all bags coming on board. You may be able to sneak smaller bottles if you are so inclined. Soda should not be a problem. Soda is complimentary in the main dining room with dinner by the way.

Just checking RCL site for some info and it seems their official policy is $1.50 first glass - free refills in the dining room. I have never had this be the case before. I don't know if its new or if the wait staff just has ignored it. Anyone know?

Jason - That has to be new. We've paid for each and every soft drink the dining room for a long time. Last cruise was last July and we used our Soda Cards for each drink. They changed it a long time ago from free soft drinks in the dining room to "pay for each drink". If it's back to free, then let me know! It'd be great.

I just returned 7/20/03 from Rhapsody of the Seas (RCCI) and we took our own 12 pack of soft drinks. The cabin steward volunteered to provide us an ice bucket specifically for icing down a few cans at a time.

You DO have to pay for each soft drink when buying them individually from the cruise line. If you buy a drink card, you get a small glass of soda but for $1.50 (plus 15% gratuity) you can buy a can of soda.

Drinks cards cost $20.00 for 17 years and under, while $30.00 for adults.

Soda in the dining room is no longer free. RCI started charging for these
last year. At my first night in the dining room I always tip the asst waiter
$5 or $10 and tell them to keep the diet Coke flowing. After that,
I usually never have to ask for a refill. Last year, when the asst waiter
brought out my first diet Coke, I handed him my cruise card with the $10
early tip, expecting him to charge me the $1.50 on the diet Coke.
He told me that he didnt like to mess with the card and to put it away.
Diet Cokes on the house all week. He received a great tip on the last day...

To My2cents:

You said drink cards cost $30. for an adult. Was that for alcohol drinks? Could you be more specific? Appreciate it! :)

P.S. I thought they did away with the drink cards (for alcohol)
