Default Fountain Soda in Dining room - is it free?

As far as I can recall, I have not paid for fountain drinks during dinner. The website says it is offered at $1.25 per glass with complimentary refills during the meal. Has this always been the case or is it new?

Last I heard, earlier this year, they are free with dinner in the main dining....either way, as much as I drink soda, they'll be diggin' a big hole for themselves at only $1.25 :-)

For us, it has never been free in the dining room, at least in the past 2 yrs. It's still $1.83 or $1.75 incl. 15% gratuity, per soft drink, no refills.

We were just on an RCI ship last summer and we had to use our Soda Cards in the dining room every night. Get one for each of you - it pays if you drink about 18 Cokes a week.

Returned a few days ago from Rhapsody of the Seas (RCCI) and you pay for sodas in the dining room and at all other times on the ship. Cost is $1.50 per can plus automatic 15% gratuity added on.

Ditto what "my2cents" said - that's exactly what we've paid for the past couple years, hence the Soda Card!! If you drink 2-3 soft drinks a day, it more than pays for itself. :o)

RCI has always charged for canned soda, whether in the dining room or
by the pool. It is considered bar service...
Soda by the glass (fountain drinks) used to be free in the dining room
with your meal. RCI started charging for those in 2002.
This is taken directly from RCI's website:

"What beverages are complimentary in the diningroom?

-----------------------------------------------------

Iced water, iced tea, lemonade, brewed coffee
and hot tea.

Fountain soda is offered at $1.25 per glass, with
complimentary refills during the meal.

Can soda is offered at $1.50 per can.

Revised: 4/25/2002 11:56:36 AM"

Hi, just came off the Serenade OTS. The only drinks that are free is Lemonade, Ice Tea, Coffee or Tea. Everything else you have to pay for.
