We have a small group of avid cruisers that are booked on the Radiance of
the Seas for November 2, 2003. We currently have 7 cabins booked double
occupancy. The "Deadline" for getting the group together is August 14th,
this Thursday, which is also final payment date. If we don't get 8 cabins,
we lose our "group status" and the various freebies that go with it. We then
would just be considered individual bookings on the same date and ship.
Here is my question for all you TAs and knowledgeable folks out there in RTC
land. Would it be appropriate for my travel agent to just put a "call in"
booking with our group booking just to get up to the required number?
It's not like we have required attendance at meetings or anything. We just
like to get together and cruise. This person would just get a few perks that
they wouldn't normally get with an individual booking.
If he refuses to do this, what would happen if I just cancelled and then
rebooked when we got eight cabins? That way we get a full refund of deposit
and can get that last booking. Maybe even negotiate from a position of
strength with the same or a different agent.
You would think he would want to work with us if he stands to lose all those
bookings, wouldn't you?
Thanks in advance for your help!

P. S. if anybody out there wants to book with us, that would save me all
this trouble!
