Sailing Mariner of the Seas 12/7!!! Should we book our excursions before we leave or can we wait until we are onboard? Just wondering if they sell out? thanks...can hardly wait!
There are a few excursions that are very popular and they do sell out fast. There are also excursions with a very limited availability. For instance, the Research Submarine excursion in Grand Cayman takes TWO people. To avoid disappoinment, we always book our excursions online in advance. Plus, it is really easy to do. The website won't even let you book two excursions that conflict with each other. You can also change your mind and cancel excursions up to 10 days before you sail.
Hi Splink,
I always book the excursion on-line before we go if its something I really want to do, especially if there is a choice of time and I want to do it in the AM. Yes, some do sell out quickly, so if there is something you really want to do, go ahead and pre-book it online. Once you are onboard, you'll receive your tickets, all very easy. You can also sign up for more with your in-cabin TV once onboard, so keep that in mind also.
Glad to hear the web booking won't let you book two in conflict. For Quebec we have two days there & want two diff trips on diff days. Was concerned that if we picked them we'd end up with two at the same time or on the same day when we want one each day... If they don't actually list the days, we'll book the one we wnt the most &then hope to get the other on board or at another time. It was great booking it on line for last cruise--saved alot of time & worked out very well--got all we selected.
If you know what you want and the time you want it, go ahead and book it online -saves you time and you will NOT be in long lines waiting to sign up once on board. And, like everyone here has said, excursions do sell out.
The only disadvantage I can think of with booking online before you go is that your credit card will be charged immediately. However, you can always change your mind aboard the ship and cancel the excursion and you will be refunded the price.
Re: Re: book excursions on the ship or in advance?
You do not need to wait until you are onboard to cancel an online excursion. You can change your mind and cancel online up to ten days before you cruise. RCI will credit your charge card for the cancelled excursion.
After you are within ten days of sailing you can still cancel once you get on board.
