Any info on Royal Caribbean's ship Grandeur of the Sea, leaving New Orleans? We are going in Jan.

Only that you will be amazed with her. Especially the solarium. I have sailed deck 8 with a balcony which is only one deck below the solarium and the Windjammer so quite convenient. Felt pampered the whole voyage. Orchestra played classical music from the central lobby continuously and that was quite enjoyable. You could hear them while strolling from deck to deck. Only reason I'm not sailing her again in 2004 is I'm booked on the SERENADE in March for the Southern Caribbean. Food was excellent. I lived in the solarium on sea days and would pop in the Windjammer for meals. Hope you have a wonderful time.

Great ship! It was our first cruise. Thinking of booking her again. After several mega cruises, thinking of going back to "smaller" ship for a change of pace. Never thought I'd be calling her smaller. We didn't think they could make them bigger at the time.

this will be my first time on Royal Caribbean as a single, have been on princess and disney when my husband was alive. Will I feel comfortable and find things to do that aren't all couples?

I definitely think you will feel comfortable. We went on Grandeur a few years ago with my mom and dad, my husband, my sister, and my mother in law. My mother in law is single (divorced) and she went off and did her own thing several times. As you know there are so many things to do and so many wonderful people who cruise, you will have a ball!! I will be sailing her sister ship on 9/29 and cannot wait!
Have a great time!

We sailed on the Grandeur last year. She is a "beautiful" ship, one of our favorites. As stated above, the Solarium was lovely. You see the water just about everywhere you go; we had the best service ever in the dining room (out of 13 cruises); the food was great; my in-laws loved the entertainment.

Have a great time!!!

Denise :-) 10 weeks, 3 days to Mariner

I am booked for April 24, 2004. We sailed her back in August 2000. The itinerary has changed. She was going to Key west, Prgresso and Cozumael Meaxico. Now she sails to Grand Caymen Costa Maya and Cozumel. Love the ship. I ahve been on the voyager class ships. I like these ships better.

Tell me about Key West and Pregesso. Was there enough time to see all in Key west? If you don't want to see the ruins what else to do in Prgesso? Food, activities, ship in general??? fill me in

My info from my T/A and some new advertisements I have seen is that the Granduer out of New Orleans in 2004 will no longer go to Progresso or Key West. Check with your T/A before booking any of the Granduer cruises in 2004 that would have gone to either of these ports. Grand Cayman and Costa Maya have been substituted.

RCI has not yet updated their website so don't bother checking there.
