Default Cyber Cabin

My husband and I will be sailing on the Serenade in March 2004. I have heard that it is possible to have internet access in your cabin for roughly $125.00/week. Does anyone know if this is true. Also... if this is the case, is this something I need to reserve or do I need to tell them in advance?

Thanks for your insight... I can't wait!!

They will give you a kit to use in the cabin to dial in. It is roughly equivalent to a dial up connection. Good enough to keep in touch with email and browse but a bit slow for VPN.

You donīt need any "kit" on the Radiance class ships, only on the Voyager class.
A cable is enough.

i just got off the VOS. i went down to the desk to get the kit and was told that it hardly works and they often get them back from unhappy customers. so, i never tried it. i did run into someone at the internet cafe that tried 2 different laptop kits and couldn't get through. she returned them for a refund. i tried using the internet on the ship. it was very pricey and i was unable to connect. i tried on 6 occasions. my email is aol and i heard that this was the problem. anyone with aol couldn't get their mail. the people with yahoo had no problem.

I used it on VOS in Feb. Works similar to dial up speed. I was able to use all internet functions including vpn and pcanywhere to my office desktop. Pretty slow but functional.
