Okay, I hope I use the right tems here. But when you check in I know we give them our credit card for onboard purchases, do they run an authorization on the card and for how much per person. Or do they just imprint your card and give you an opportuntity to pay cash or actually charge your purchases on the card at the end. Obvoiusly this would help as to how much we need to have available on the card for this reason. Can anyone help?
YOu can pay the bill in cash on the last night. RC will check the authorization a few days in to the cruise BUT does not charge you card till the end of the cruise. You can check your account on the tv on the ship. I did that daily to make sure there was no problems. I also paid part way thru with cash to keep the end price down.
If the ship is automatically charging tips to your onboard account, this amount will be deducted from your account immediately. You have the ability to pay cash at the end if you wish. But financially isn't it better to put it on your credit card and pay it off at the end of the month and leave your cash in a bank account drawing interest?
