You really have to wonder what questions were asked to come up with these results! Disney #5 for Pete's sake????? I wouldn't set foot on a cruiseship that didn't have a casino but had Mickey and Goofy everywhere. That's just me.
I always look at polls as what cross section of American they are actually polling! :-)
The cruise lines, food, dress will definitely give you hundreds of different answers! I think the one thing on Disney that probably pushes them up the list is the actual Disney philosophy, attention to detail. I've been through the Disney seminar about Disney and how they apply it, and I bet everyone on that ship believes in Disney.
I noticed personnel kind of standing around on the Carnival Glory and you probably don't find that on Disney. I was amazed one time going to the back of the ship where there were some tables so we could look out. It was in the morning but not super early, and the floor was a mess. It needed to be cleaned and picked up. I've never seen that on another ship and I know you wouldn't on Disney, no way.
Re: Re: FYI...Traveler Magazine Top Ten Cruise Poll
THESE POLLS ARE MISLEADING!!
You need to look at the readership and understand the demographics. Sometimes the poll doesn't even include the name of the lines...Conde` Nast had a poll for the last umpteen years that never included Celebrity. Every year Conde` would name Holland America as #1 This year people started writing in the names on the survey and finally the results were different. GO FIGURE!!
Re: Re: Re: FYI...Traveler Magazine Top Ten Cruise Poll
Don't take the results of magazine polls too seriously since their legitimacy is really questionable. They are usually not created very scientifically and frequently come up with results that reflect the biases of the party conducting the polls. Polls are far too easily manipulated either by the persons designing them, or the people participating in them to consider them much more than entertaining reading. I suspect that a competent poll designer could create two polls on the same topic that would come up with absolutely contradictory results, and overparticipation in a poll by special interest groups can seriously skew the results of even the most objectively worded poll.
